No Respect

So I just read Bald Vinny's blog and find out he's over and out from Yankee Stadium. I understand he's gotta take care of Rose and the kids, in fact always wondered how he did it since he got married and had the kids.  Figured Rose must be 1. a saint and 2. the best wife in the world aside from probably having a good career of her own. But with 2 kids at home, he has decided it's time to throw in the t-shirt and get a "real job." Not that having his t-shirt business isn't a real job, because he was there on River Ave. every day, rain or shine (or snow), selling his original designs.  (My Swisher Salute t-shirt is one of my prize possessions as a matter of fact.) But apparently it's not bringing in the bucks needed for a family of four in this economy.  So the question remains, why don't the Yankees embrace this "character" as they have others in the past?  Think Freddy with the frying pan, for example.  I mean, this one eyed old geezer walked around the Stadium hitting a frying pan with a spoon every game for years and rode in the parades and was like an Icon. Bald Vinny  leads that roll call every night, heard by fans all over the country on TV and radio.  Everyone knows him. He's been featured on national TV spots doing it. I think the Yankees should show him a little respect.  They're made of money.  Give him the start up funds he needs to get his business licensed.  'Nuff said.  I'll miss him.  The Yankees can fix this.

Another Day

Over a year has gone by since I started this.  Things have certainly gone down hill with my health. Ankylosing Spondylitis is getting out of control. It has started to affect my right hip and for a month I have been limping around like a hundred year old woman. Tomorrow I go for my second MRI in a week. Yesterday I saw a neurologist. I am serious thinking about retiring early. Just don't know what to do at this point.  I guess I have to wait and see.  But the pain, and I have a very high tolerance, is beyond my threshold and no matter now much medication I take, ice or heat I put on, nothing is taking the edge off. Time to continue the pity party. :(

First Post

So I'm sure everyone is interested about life in Dobbs Ferry and how I deal with two crazy Pomeranians.  Stay tuned...
